New Zealand Text Champion is a nationwide competition to find New Zealand's fastest texter (and a good excuse to give away some sponsors prizes!).

The aim is to type the random message we announce and type it 100% correctly and as fast as you can to 360 (each text costs 20c). You will instantly receive notification if the message was typed correctly. An example message could be:

People that are right handed tend to chew on their right side while people that are left handed tend to chew on their left side

• NO FULL STOP AT THE END
• No abbreviations e.g. Don't type '2' instead of 'to'
• Place names must have a capital
• The sentence will be spoken slowly and repeated

For the second event on Juice TV the message will be announced first with a countdown timer similar to this:

When the countdown timer reaches zero, a full screen title will be displayed for a period of one minute. In the background we will also repeatedly voice the message so you don't have to look at the screen while typing.
